To enable our students to develop their language proficiency whereby they can become effective communicators in English in every facet of life is always our mission.
Aims
As an integral part of the continuum of English Language education at school level; the English Language curriculum specifically aims to enable students to:
- broaden and deepen the language competencies, so that they are able to be effective communicators in the English medium;
- extend their knowledge and experience of the cultures of other people as well as opportunities for personal and intellectual development, further studies; pleasure and work in the English medium; and
- further develop learning how to learn skills and positive values and attitudes conducive to achieving their full potential for English and meeting the needs of our rapidly changing and keenly competitive knowledge-based society.
Learning Targets
The target of English Language is for students from Secondary 1 to 6 to develop an ever-improving capability to use English:
- to think and communicate;
- to acquire; develop and apply knowledge;
- to respond and give expression to experience;
and within these contexts, to develop and apply and ever-increasing understanding of how language is organized; used and learned.
